The written and psychometric tests for Pakistani candidates shall be conducted at Islamabad, and for candidates belonging to Pakistani diaspora overseas, these tests shall be conducted simultaneously in Dubai, Washington, and London at Pakistan High Commissions/Consulates.

Important Dates
We kindly request all interested applicants to complete and submit their applications before the specified deadline of July 18, 2023, 11:59 PM Pakistan Standard Time. Applications received after this date may not be considered.

Candidates are required to submit two sets of hard copies of their applications, including the application form and all other required documents. These hard copies shall reach LUMS by July 23, 2023. Late submissions will not be considered.
Please note that there will be no extensions to the specified deadlines. Your understanding of and cooperation in adhering to the given deadlines is duly appreciated.
The written test is scheduled tentatively for Saturday, August 6, 2023. Detailed instructions will be provided on the test ticket, which will be issued after the thorough scrutiny of applications. Only shortlisted candidates will receive the test ticket.
Tests
Written Test of 100 marks related to academic background, professional knowledge and analytical skills.
Psychometric test of candidates qualifying written test
- Separate marks are not awarded for the psychometric assessment.
- A psychometric test report will be placed before the interview board.
- If a candidate remains absent in the psychometric assessment, they will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
The Written as well as psychometric tests shall be conducted by LUMS in selected city/cities of Pakistan and designated Pakistan’s Missions abroad (for Pakistani Diaspora) as decided by MoC. The Overall weightage of the written test/ assessment shall be 60% and passing marks will be 60%.

Written and psychometric tests for selection against the posts of trade and investment officers in Pakistan’s Missions Abroad were contracted by the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Government of Pakistan, to a team of LUMS faculty members. The LUMS test team is tasked with the scrutiny of candidates, designing, administering, and grading the test, and reporting the results to the Ministry in a professional and fair manner. The eligibility criteria for the candidates were determined by the Ministry of Commerce and published in their advertisements. LUMS and the Ministry of Commerce will determine eligibility based on the information provided by the candidates. Successful candidates in the written test shall appear in the interview to be scheduled and conducted by the Ministry of Commerce. LUMS or its faculty or staff has no control on the interview cycle. In no event shall LUMS or its faculty and staff be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage caused or alleged to be caused by the acts of the MoC on which LUMS or its written test team has no direct or indirect control. Consulting and advising the government is a desirable activity through which LUMS faculty share knowledge and expertise with the outside world to help improve products, services, and processes. The LUMS Team for the written and psychometric tests has no conflicts of interest, and the tests reflect well on the faculty, their profession, and university.
